Annie Ropeik

I’m a climate change journalist in Maine. I tell stories that seek to empower people to be part of a just transition, and I work to support collaborations that help local environmental journalism thrive.

Annie Ropeik and her husband Nick in Isle Au Haut, Maine, summer 2022.

About me: I grew up in Maryland and spent summers mud-mucking on the Chesapeake Bay. I was a reporter for local NPR stations in Alaska, Delaware, Indiana and New Hampshire before going freelance and settling in Portland with my husband Nick. We love kayaking in the Midcoast, hiking in Acadia and hanging out with our cats.
