Annie Ropeik
I’m a climate change journalist in Maine. I tell stories that empower people to be part of a just transition as their communities transform with the warming planet, and I lead collaborations that help local environmental journalism thrive.

About me
I grew up in Maryland and learned to be an environmentalist at Audubon summer camps on the Chesapeake Bay. I studied classics and journalism at Boston University, then worked as a public radio reporter in Alaska, Delaware, Indiana and New Hampshire before settling in Portland, where I live with my husband Nick, two cats and an ever-growing plant menagerie. We love kayaking in the Midcoast and hiking in Acadia.
